The EDPro Weblog backstory

Years ago, EDPro Weblog started as a hobby...Connecting two "new" Internet technologies -- search engines and weblogs. Now, it's become a good way (so I'm told) for economic and workforce development professionals to keep up with new developments.

There's no question that the fields of education, workforce and economic development are undergoing major changes.

Ed Morrison's backstory

For the past twenty years or so, I have worked as an economic development consultant with counties, regions and states. In addition to publishing EDPro Weblog, I work with the Purdue Center for Regional Development. I'm excited to be engaged in some of the newest approaches to economic and workforce development.

During the past five or six years, I have been working on Open Source Economic Development (how do we organize and execute complex projects in an open environment?), Open Source Workforce Development (how to we innovate here, as well?) and Strategic Doing (how do we think and act strategically in this new environment?).

Strategy-Nets, LLC is a company designed to power Strategic Doing. We're focused on delivering powerful strategy experiences for loosely joined networks. Old ways of doing strategy -- strategic planning -- do not work well in today's world of inter-dependent networks. Strategy-Nets fills the gaps to enable economic and workforce development professionals to build the strategic collaborations they need to transform their economies.

In addition to publishing EDPro Weblog, I work with the Purdue Center for Regional Development. Our Center is one of the most exciting places on the planet (if you are into economic and workforce development, that is.) I'm excited to be engaged in some of the newest approaches to economic and workforce development my colleagues are developing.
